SKINCARE
Good skin care is very much essential regardless of age.
your skin is changing daily, in every season and throughout the year.
The more educated you are about the skincare you are better your skin can look.
I am hoping more you understand about skincare issues and their management more the benefits you will reap.
there are two types of factors that affect our skin.
1 intrinsic factor
are those factors which are not in our control we can't stop them but taking certain steps we can minimize the effect of these factors, like age, genetics, and stress
2 extrinsic factors
have a huge impact on how we look. we can control these factors.
extrinsic factors are smoking, pollutions, extreme weather conditions, diet, dehydration, poor health, have a great impact on how we look
smoking
according to a study certain chemicals in tobacco reduces collagen production and damages the skin's elasticity so avoid smoking. the nicotine narrows the blood vessels ultimately it decreases blood flow to the skin and reduces the oxygen and nutrients supply to the skin.
smoking causes wrinkles and speeds up the skin aging process.
pollution
pollution may break down collagen and lipids of skin, it also causes irritation, rashes and also clogs the skin pores.
clean your skin properly
avoid pollution
use safety measures
use sunscreen
use moisturizer
use more antioxidants
stay hydrated
sun exposure
too much exposure to the sun without safety measures affects the appearance and growth of skin and may cause some skin issues.
safe sun exposure is also necessary it protects from skin cancer
use a sunscreen
reapply sunscreen after 2 hours in the sun
limit your exposure to the sun in peak times
stay hydrated
diet
reduce high carb intake, food with a high glycemic index may cause wrinkles and acne.excessive use of dairy products may also increase acne.
use a healthy diet which contains nutrients needed by the body,
uses fresh fruits, vegetables whole grains healthy fats protein water and most importantly use less processed, packaged food, saturated fats and added sugar.
there are three types of regimens for skincare
protection
correction
stimulation
protection
is very much important if we take proper protective measures they will save us from future complications
there are products used to protect our skin.
we should use them in the morning like sunscreen antioxidants and things that help to protect our skin from daylight, pollutions.
80 % changes in our skin we see as adults are due to exposure to the sun, and 70 % of women don't use sunscreen daily. and these sunscreens are good only about two hours, if you are inside and not sweating then you probably will be good for one application but if you are exposed to sun then re-apply every two hours
there are more sophisticated day creams which have everything you might need in the morning, with SPF for sun they also contain antioxidants like vitamin c, peptides, enzymes that reduce sun damages ,. hydrates, moisturizers and even some contain pigments.
correction of skin
certain products are used to correct the problem of hyperpigmentation or brown spots.
brown patchy areas on the skin are hyperpigmentation which is due to excess production of melanin which is produced deep in the cell and transported to the outer surface. so it takes a long time to cure that brown from your skin you need to turn over all those cells beneath the skin to clear deep inside the surfaces. those brown spots are the protection which skin puts up to save itself from the sun. you also have skin lesions or patches on your skin with this pigment like to accumulate. the pigment can be lightened out of lesions but they don't go away. so without good treatment, you can see the return of those brown spots over time. other products disrupt the excessive melanin production
skin brighteners contain hydroquinone reduces the melanin production it takes at least two weeks to start working hydroquinone.
it takes time to reverse the hyperpigmentation
melasma,
the brown spots are large colorless patches usually its due to overstimulation of hormone. but its primary treatment is skincare and its best to avoid any kind of irritation from the light or strong products.
stimulation products
as we grow old we need more collagen more elastin there are certain products which stimulate the cell, collagen and elastin productions,
retina stimulates the skin to produce more collagen and elastin,
there are certain growth factors that stimulate cell production and healing.
retinoids are vitamin A derivatives its consistent use normalize cell function
it increases cell turn over unclog pores, reduces collagenase, reduces pigmentation thickens and brightens skin
the retinoid reaction is well known (side effects in the start of therapy )
there are also certain products with growth factors
growth factors naturally occurring substances made by the skin cells, that stimulate cellular growth healing cell differentiation. they help in the formation of elastin and collagen
